Known Problems
The current OS/2 implementation of the LVM Engine has
the following known problems.
- The name reported by the File_System_Name field of Partition_Information_Record
is incorrect for filesystem (partition) types 0x81, 0x82 and 0x83.
Specifically, 0x81 (undefined) and 0x82 (Linux swap) are reported as
'Linux', and 0x83 (Linux native) is reported as undefined.
- A segmentation fault may occur when the Boot_Manager_Is_Installed
function is called.
- The latest version of LVM.DLL (shipped with OS2LVM.DMD 14.105 in LVM
FixPak XR0L002, or OS/2 Convenience Package FixPak XR0C006) will alway
rewrite the MBR on commit (with the same effects as if New_MBR had been called.
- LVM does not recognize the four disk signature bytes (used by Windows
NT operating systems) located at offset 0x1B8 in the master boot record,
and will always overwrite them with 0s when committing changes.
- A trap is likely when attempting to assign a drive letter which is
currently in use by a NFS drive.
